Dyness products, a beacon of innovation in energy storage for commercial and industrial applications in Greece.
According to Greece’s National Energy and Climate Plan, as presented by the European Commission, the country is expected to strongly support the European goal of climate neutrality by 2050, which aligns with its own long-term national strategy.
In addition, it sets the target of achieving a share of renewable energy sources in electricity generation of over 95% by 2050. This has significantly encouraged the rapid development of Greece’s renewable energy industry.
However, Greece continues to face certain electricity-related challenges. Renewable energy projects are experiencing notable delays in grid connection due to limited network capacity. Following the plan to gradually phase out coal-fired power plants by 2028, Greece requires significant investment in grid infrastructure and energy storage solutions to address the variability of renewable energy production.
In addition, the country’s numerous islands make the energy transition a more complex and costly process.
Under these circumstances, energy storage represents a highly promising solution for Greece. According to the Greece 2023 – Energy Policy Review, the Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE) had issued 181 licenses for electricity storage projects by the end of 2021, with a total capacity of 14.3 GW.
In April 2023, the relevant ministry launched a subsidy policy of €200,000,000 through the “Photovoltaics on the Roof” program, covering up to 75% of total costs for households and 60% for farmers. Through renewable energy subsidies, energy storage has entered the daily lives of thousands of households.
Moreover, according to sources, this policy is expected to continue into 2025, with new subsidy programs for energy storage systems. In this way, interest in renewable energy systems combined with storage remains active and continuously renewed.
Dyness, as a global pioneer and innovative manufacturer of energy storage solutions, has been present in the Greek market for several years.
